Interpol frontman to release solo album this summer

Interpol frontman to release solo album this summer Interpol frontman Paul Banks is readying a new solo album, which will be released under his alias Julian Plenti. The new album is titled "Skyscraper", and is due out August 4.

Banks has written under the Plenti penname for many years, according to Billboard. Some of the songs on the album are brand new, but others were written more than ten years ago. The album reportedly has a "cocky, sexy" feel.

Under the name Plenti, Banks used to perform before Interpol and the name has been credited with engineering a 2005 remix of the band's track "NARC". For more information on Banks' side project, including samples of his music, surf to Julianplenti.com.

Meanwhile, Interpol have been busy rehearsing new material for the follow-up to 2007's "Our Love To Admire".
